European shares jump over 1% after Democrats sweep US Congress, Novo Nordisk surges

The European equity benchmark closed at a more than ‌two-month high on Wednesday in broad-based gains after Democrats won control of both chambers of the US Congress, while Wegovy maker Novo Nordisk surged on an upgraded annual forecast.
